Real or Fake?

Right from the first look, SpDate.com offers something different. The homepage doesn’t feature any photos of people. Instead, it is sleek and modern, offering very little information, yer promising a great and innovative experience. This is a good tactic, as it leaves the new visitors wondering about the site. Yet, this facade crumples down right after registration. Behind a modern homepage lies a dating site with a classic, dated appearance, and very few features. However, the definitive worst trait of the site is the usage of fake profiles. These profiles don’t belong to the people in the pictures but are instead run by paid professionals. These operators have the task of starting conversations with new users and enticing them to become a paying member. This happens right after you create your account, which is a huge red flag. You will most probably only encounter fake users, and there is little to no chance of actually meeting someone through the site. The site indicates fictitious profiles by placing an ‘’UP’’ (Unreal Personality) icon next to their name.

Free vs Paid

The site promises free registration. Yet, the process is riddled with ads and can take quite some time to complete, as the design is faulty. Spdate is different from other fake dating sites we have reviewed. This is true because the site clearly indicated fake profiles, and doesn’t charge for messaging other users. Purchasing a membership means getting to see all the photos on the site as well as a list of the site’s most active users and being more visible. There are a few features on the site, but none of them work well. Sex Request is supposed to match users and get them dates, but only leads to other pornographic sites. This is another way the site makes money off of its user base. Discovery is a tinder-like feature where you get to like or skip other members’ photos. Yet, of course, the photos don’t even belong to the members.
